HRA Fall Conference registration now online

Registration for the HeritageRail Alliance Fall Conference in Minneapolis is now online. Go to https://heritagerail.orgĀ and you’ll find them on the home page.

The theme is branding, an essential part of building the ridership and visitor experience at every museum and tourist railroad. There will be a series of seminars on this and other topics.

If you like steam, a pre-conference trip to Duluth features Duluth & Northeastern 2-8-0 #28 on the North Shore Scenic Railroad run to Two Harbors. We’ll visit the shop of Milwaukee Road 4-8-4 #261 with the loco under steam. The day after the conference, #261 is running a trip over the Twin Cities & Western.

And don’t forget the ride on 70-foot wood steamboat Minnehaha, powered by a rare triple expansion engine.

If you like diesels, we’ll ride the Osceola & St. Croix Valley. We’ll also visit the Minnesota Transportation Museum’s Jackson Street Roundhouse

If you like trolleys, we’ll visit the Minnesota Streetcar Museum’s Como-Harriet and Excelsior Streetcar Lines, plus there are two light rail lines.

Were staying at first-class hotel in downtown Minneapolis, and there’s a full schedule of spouse/traveling companion activities.

The conference dates of Oct. 3-7 are about a week before the peak of Fall colors. No, there won’t be any snow.

So come visit Minneapolis and celebrate the best of railway preservation.
