MISSION STATEMENT
The Central Florida Railway Historical Society, Inc. promotes railway heritage preservation and educates its members and the public about rail transportation, its history and impact, with a focus on Central Florida.

ABOUT
The Central Florida Railroad Museum is located in the 1913 Tavares & Gulf Railroad depot in historic downtown Winter Garden. We are fortunate to have one of the largest collections if railroad dining car china and silver service on public display in the country. Most railroads had their own unique patterns on their china, silver and glassware for their dining and business cars, and we have on display patterns representing 29 railroads throughout the United States and Canada.

We also have an extremely large display of railroad memorabilia representing many U.S. and Canadian railroads. The collection includes a Fairmont motorcar, a velocipede, steam locomotive bells & headlights, whistles, builder’s plates, tin ware, signage, tools, trackside signals, telegraph equipment, teletype equipment, telephones, railroad radios, Pullman car items & china, uniforms on manikins, oil & electric hand lanterns, switch-stand lanterns, car inspector’s lanterns, conductor’s caps, cap badges, ticket punches, headrest covers, an HO model railroad layout and much, much more.

Our telegraph display is interactive and you can try your skills at sending or receiving a message. We also have a hands-on Thomas-the-Tank Engine layout to entertain the kids. Our very large research library, with over 1500 railroad books, is available to visitors for research on the premises, but cannot be checked out.
